Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani urges telcos to enhance R&D spending to shape 6G, AI-RAN

NEW DELHI: Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani on Friday urged the Indian telecom industry to significantly enhance their spending in research and development (R&D) to shape the future of the sixth-generation (6G), AI-RAN and edge computing technologies.
At an industry conference organised by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), Pemmasani said India’s telecom services sector generated gross revenue of ₹3.72 lakh crore in FY25.
