Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio lead wireless subscribers additions in March: TRAI

NEW DELHI: Strong wireless mobile subscriber additions at India’s top two telecom operators, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, pushed the user base to 1.265 billion in March 2026, according to the latest industry data collated by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.

However, the other two telcos – Vodafone Idea (Vi) and state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) – trailed behind.

Airtel’s subscriber base increased by 5.09 million to 477.74 million in March. By contrast, Jio added 3.22 million wireless subscribers, which boosted its user base to 496.33 million, while Vi’s subscriber base increased by 0.102 million to 198.48 million as it saw gains in 15 circles, according to the telecom regulator’s data.
