IndieSemiC partners Nordic Semiconductor to develop, commercialise wireless modules

Homegrown chip design company IndieSemiC has partnered with Nordic Semiconductor to design and commercialise advanced wireless modules for next-generation connected devices.

The Norwegian fabless company specialises in low-power wireless solutions. The partnership will leverage Nordic’s low-power system-on-chip (SoC) technology with IndieSemiC’s RF design and product engineering expertise to deliver high-performance, production-ready modules.

The companies said their co-developed modules are already commercially available and seeing adoption globally across device segments, including smart home, wearables, healthcare devices, industrial Internet of Things (IoT) systems, smart metering, and automotive connectivity.

IndieSemiC’s RF modules support Bluetooth LE, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, and Matter, along with long-range solutions.

“Through this partnership, we are not only strengthening our technology capabilities but also expanding our presence in global markets,” said Nikul Shah, Founder and CEO of IndiesemiC. “We believe India is well-positioned to emerge as a strong alternative by focusing on design innovation and product development.”

IndiesemiC is responsible for the complete module lifecycle in this collaboration, including RF design, antenna engineering, hardware development, firmware support, testing, validation, certification, and manufacturing.

In turn, Nordic provides the core chipset technology that IndieSemiC transforms into fully integrated, production-ready modules for customers.

“By leveraging Nordic Semiconductor’s low power wireless platforms, these modules support applications across the range in the IoT domain. This aligns well with India’s broader ambitions to strengthen its semiconductor and electronics ecosystem through design led growth,” said Gaurav Kapoor, country manager (India), Nordic Semiconductor.
