Motorola seeks removal of YouTube, Instagram, X content in defamation case
New Delhi: In a first in India, Motorola Mobility has filed a civil defamation suit against social media platforms and over a dozen tech creators and bloggers, seeking permanent injunction and takedown of content targeting its smartphones.
In a 69-page suit filed in the Principal City Civil and Sessions Court, Bengaluru, the Chinese-owned company said a large volume of content across various social media platforms falsely and maliciously allege that its phones catch fire and explode and actively advise consumers not to buy its products.
