Microsoft Copilot and other AI chatbots are helping American schools reduce budget deficits worth millions of dollars

US schools have reportedly increased the use of AI chatbots to manage finances and reduce budget deficits. According to a Bloomberg report, districts facing funding pressures from declining enrollment and rising costs are turning to AI tools to improve administrative efficiency.

In Florida’s Broward County Public Schools, which is dealing with a $100 million shortfall, officials have used Microsoft’s Copilot to analyse expenses such as energy, maintenance, and labour, the report notes.
