Microsoft Surface PCs get price hike of up to 50% in US, company says …
Microsoft has increased prices of its Surface PCs in the US. After the hike, prices of Microsoft Surface PCs at the Microsoft Store have gone up by up to 50%. Additionally, the price rise is live across both its midrange and flagship Surface lines. For example, the price of flagship Surface Pro 13-inch, which originally launched for $999, now starts at $1,499. Similarly, the Surface Pro 12-inch, which previously cost $799, is now priced at $1,049. The price increase comes amid the rising cost of memory and PC components.
In a statement to Windows Central, a Microsoft spokesperson said “Due to recent increases in memory and component costs, Surface is updating pricing on Microsoft.com for its current‑generation hardware portfolio”.
