Trump administration considering expanding Chinese tech gear crackdown
WASHINGTON: The Federal Communications Commission said Friday it is considering banning the import of Chinese equipment from a group of manufacturers after previously barring approvals of new models in 2022.
The FCC in 2021 added telecommunications and video surveillance equipment produced by Huawei, ZTE, Hytera, Hikvision and Dahua to its so-called “Covered List”.
