AI will cause waves of layoffs in repetitive manual jobs: QED Investors’ Nigel Morris
QED Investors’ cofounder and managing partner Nigel Morris expects that artificial intelligence (AI) will have a significant impact on employment in the near term. Those performing repetitive manual tasks will be the hardest hit, he added.
“The population that is doing manual repetitive tasks is going to shrink dramatically. I think we are going to see waves of layoffs occurring. I was a little nervous about the US economy even before the war that started a month ago. Unemployment is creeping up,” Morris told ET in an exclusive interview.
