Marc Andreessen, founder of venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), has dismissed concerns about mass layoffs driven by artificial intelligence (AI), arguing that technological progress historically expands rather than shrinks.
He added that AI will create more opportunities for “human-intensive” work.
Responding to Andreessen’s remarks on X, Elon Musk said that in the long term, “working will be optional,” reflecting a more radical view of AI’s impact on the future of labour.
