Poste Italiane bids to take over telecom operator TIM
Rome: Italy’s state-controlled postal service is launching a 10.8-billion euro bid to take full control of telecom operator TIM, in which it already holds a majority stake, Poste Italiane said on Monday.
Shares in TIM were up 4.5 percent by 0815 GMT on the Milan stock exchange, while Poste Italiane was down 5.8 percent at the start of trading.
The offer, combining cash and Poste Italiane shares, values each share in the telecom operator at 0.635 euros, representing “a 9.01% premium compared to TIM’s official share price as of March 20, 2026,” according to a Poste Italiane press release published on Monday.
