NEW DELHI: Artificial intelligence is steadily transforming telecom networks into autonomous, self-optimising systems, with its role expanding from operational support to core network functionality, said Magnus Ewerbring, CTO APAC at Ericsson. He underscored that AI adoption in telecom is a continuous evolution, reshaping how networks are built, operated, and scaled.
The top Ericsson executive was speaking at the ninth edition of the ETTelecom 5G Congress 2026, during a fireside chat with Randeep Sekhon, CTO of Bharti Airtel, moderated by Mansi Taneja, Associate Editor, ETTelecom.
