Google announces it is shutting down Firebase Studio, less than a year after its launch; read the message to users
Google has announced to shut down its Firebase Studio on March 22, 2027. The decision to pull the plug on the platform comes almost a year after its launch. To recall, the tech giant introduced Firebase Studio, the full-stack AI workspace in April 2025. Announcing the Firebase Studio shut down, the company said: “Firebase Studio is sunsetting on March 22, 2027”. “We’re simplifying our AI developer offerings by transitioning the lessons learned from the Firebase Studio preview into our flagship tools: Google AI Studio and Google Antigravity,” it added. By integrating agentic capabilities directly into AI platforms, the company aims to ensure that Firebase continues to provide a seamless, reliable backend for AI-driven development. Core Firebase services, such as Cloud Firestore, Authentication, and App Hosting, will continue to work outside of Firebase Studio.
