TRAI proposes AI tools to detect & block spam calls, messages

Mumbai: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has proposed to formally allow telecom companies to use AI-based filtering tools to detect and block spam calls and messages.

According to the draft amendments to its Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations (TCCCPR) issued Friday, TRAI has proposed to recognise these systems and bring them within the regulatory framework.
