CCI says BookMyShow hasn’t abused its market dominance, closes case
New Delhi: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has dismissed allegations of a breach of antitrust rules by Big Tree Entertainment, which operates the online movie ticketing platform BookMyShow, and closed the case.
In an order on Thursday, the regulator reckoned that while BookMyShow enjoys a dominant position in the online movie ticket booking market, it hasn’t abused its dominance as per the competition law.
The order came on a complaint filed by Vijay Gopal, founder of the online movie ticketing portal Showtyme, which is registered in the name of Vanila Entertainments.
