India-New Zealand final ad rush: JioStar seeks Rs 50L for 10-sec spot

Mumbai: JioStar, the official media rights holder for the International Cricket Council (ICC), is seeking about Rs 50 lakh for a 10-second advertising spot during the India-New Zealand final as demand from advertisers’ surges following India’s run to the title clash, several ad executives said.

Media buyers said the broadcaster was quoting a premium because advertising inventory for the final is limited, while viewership has risen sharply through the tournament.

JioHotstar recorded 65.2 million peak concurrent viewers during the India-England semi-final, setting a world record for the highest concurrency for a live event on any digital platform.
