Amazon’s website and shopping app faced a service outage of nearly six hours on March 5 in the US. Due to the service outage the Amazon users were not able to check out, view product prices, or access their account information. As reported by DownDetector, the service disruption started around 2 PM ET and more than 22,000 complaints were reported on the platform. However, Amazon resolved the issue of 8 pm ET. As reported by CNBC, an Amazon spokesperson confirmed that the incident was linked to a software code deployment.
