Narayana Murthy calms fears over AI; says past tech disruptions added more jobs

Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy on Friday sought to allay concerns over artificial intelligence (AI)-led job losses, asserting that technological disruptions historically expanded employment opportunities by creating new roles requiring different skill sets.

“I am a firm believer that technology will never reduce jobs at the macro level,” Murthy said during a fireside chat with S Sadagopan, the founding director of IIIT-Bangalore, at the 25th anniversary celebrations of deeptech firm Ittiam Systems.
