Tech Mahindra partners with Nvidia to launch education LLM in India
NEW DELHI: Homegrown IT services company Tech Mahindra on Friday partnered with AI chipmaker Nvidia to launch a new large language model (LLM), under the Project Indus, for the education sector.
The new LLM will focus on democratising high-quality learning, and it is designed to empower students with a deeper foundational understanding of subjects such as physics and other disciplines.
The launch coincides with a growing call from private industry, startups and enterprises, and governments to develop “Indianised” local LLMs, in a bid to cut reliance on Western LLMs that they say trail behind in understanding the nuances, dialects, and contexts of Indian languages, literature, scenarios, and more.
