AI-driven cyberthreats may require fresh legal framework: Ashwini Vaishnaw

NEW DELHI: India may consider developing a new legal framework to address rising cyber threats, particularly those driven by artificial intelligence (AI), said Union Minister of Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday.

“All the telecom operators and the major IT companies must also seriously look at a totally new way of countering cyber threats,” Vaishnaw said. “And we also have to create a new legal framework for cybersecurity, with all these challenges that we are facing today and the new opportunities that we have.”
