Something is shifting at Meta, and it’s not just the org chart. Some product managers at the company have started calling themselves “AI builders”—a quiet but telling sign of how AI coding tools are beginning to blur the lines between who plans products and who actually builds them. It’s a small label change, but it points to something bigger: the traditional PM role, long defined by roadmaps and stakeholder meetings, is quietly being rebuilt from scratch.

Jeremie Guedj, a Meta product manager with over a decade of experience, announced the change on LinkedIn last week. “I still can’t believe I’m writing this: as of today, my full-time job at Meta is AI Builder,” he wrote.
