Integration of AI layer in India’s DPI to transform governance: Reliance Jio’s Shyam Mardikar

NEW DELHI: Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into digital public infrastructure could drive the next major overhaul for India’s governance mechanism, said a top executive of Reliance Jio Infocomm on Tuesday.

“The digital infrastructure is already a tremendous success story in the country. The digital payments (UPI), ERP, Aadhaar card, and banking are all online now,” said Shyam P Mardikar, president & group CTO mobility at Reliance Jio Infocomm at the ongoing India AI Impact Summit 2026.
