TRAI releases telecom subscription and broadband data for December 2025: How Jio, Airtel and other fared
India’s wireless (mobile) subscriber base expanded in December 2025 with Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel emerging as the major gainers, a new report released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has shown. The subscriber movement, however, remained uneven across operators as Vodafone Idea Ltd and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) continued to report net losses.
According to TRAI’s monthly data, Airtel added 5.42 million subscribers in December 2025 while . Jio added approximately 2.96 million wireless subscribers during the month.
