Polaris deploys over 1 million smart meters under RDSS

NEW DELHI: Homegrown energy technology company Polaris Smart Metering said it has manufactured and deployed more than 1 million smart meters nationwide under the Centre’s ambitious Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

Ajitabh Sharma, additional chief secretary (energy) and chairman, Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RVPN), said in a statement, “With the rapid growth of renewable energy and our planned expansion of battery energy storage, smart meters will play a central role in demand flexibility and grid management.”
