Ashwini Vaishnaw opens new Zetwerk Bengaluru plant, to employ 1,200 professionals

Union Minister of Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw, on Saturday (February 7), inaugurated homegrown Zetwerk Electronics’ new manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka, that will serve the aerospace & defence, automotive, and IT hardware sectors.

At full scale, the facility will employ over 1,200 skilled professionals, said Zetwerk.

“I congratulate Team Zetwerk on the launch of this Bengaluru facility. The government is always looking to adopt what serves the industry the best, and we are open to suggestions. Let’s work together to achieve the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” Vaishnaw said.

The Bengaluru plant marks Zetwerk’s strategic entry and expansion into automotive, aerospace & defence, and IT hardware manufacturing sectors, central to India’s industrial growth and national security priorities, according to the company’s statement.

The plant will offer end-to-end lifecycle support, from design and engineering to manufacturing, enabling India to reduce import dependence and build more resilient domestic supply chains.

The company added that the plant will also play a key role in localising critical electronics sub-assemblies.

“Facilities like Zetwerk Electronics’ Bengaluru plant underscore how design excellence and manufacturing scale can come together to serve high-impact sectors,” said MB Patil, minister for large & medium industries, government of Karnataka.

“With this facility, we are bringing together advanced manufacturing technologies, specialised talent, and tightly integrated supply chains to deliver complex, high-reliability systems at scale,” said Rahul Sharma, co-founder & MD (precision), Zetwerk.

Strengthening Zetwerk’s export-led manufacturing capabilities, the facility will serve both domestic and international customers. Spread across 100,000 sq. ft., the plant is equipped with state-of-the-art SMT and FATP lines to cater to the aerospace & defence and automotive sectors.

“This facility has been built to bring those capabilities together seamlessly, enabling faster validation, stronger quality control, and predictable, high-reliability execution across the product lifecycle,” said Vishal Chaudhary, co-founder & MD (aerospace & defence), Zetwerk.
