DoT cuts 39.42 lakh mobile connections suspected of fraud: Pemmasani
NEW DELHI: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has disconnected more than 39.42 lakh mobile connections to date, based on 7.72 lakh inputs from vigilant citizens, that were suspected of fraudulent communications, Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani said on Wednesday.
“DoT has developed Sanchar Saathi, a citizen-centric initiative, which facilitates citizens to report suspected fraud Communications, to know mobile connections in their name, to report lost or stolen mobile handsets, to check the genuineness of mobile handset etc,” Pemmasani said in a written reply to an unstarred question in Lok Sabha.
