SIM binding to discourage fraud, strengthen security: Jyotiraditya Scindia

NEW DELHI: The Centre’s recent mandate for SIM or Subscriber Identity Module binding is aimed at strengthening national security as well as preventing mobile frauds, enabling law-enforcement agencies to effectively track in case of any misuse.

“If a person has done something wrong, there is no trail, which is why the SIM binding has been put in place, both for the prevention of fraud and from a security angle,” Union Communications Minister Jyotiridiya Scindia, told ETTelecom.
