Elon Musk’s SpaceX has acquired his artificial intelligence startup xAI ahead of the possible IPO. Musk says that this deal will create ‘the most ambitious, vertically-integrated innovation engine on (and off) Earth.” In a memo sent to the staff, Musk outlined his vision for combining rockets, AI, direct-to-mobile communications, space-based internet and real-time information platforms under one umbrella. “This marks not just the next chapter, but the next book in SpaceX and xAI’s mission: scaling to make a sentient sun to understand the Universe and extend the light of consciousness to the stars,” Musk wrote.

He further added that this acquisition would enable the launch of orbital data centers which will be directly powered by solar energy and help in meeting the immense computing demands of AI.
