Vodafone Idea eyes foray into 5G FWA, seeks satcom clearances: Abhijit Kishore

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea’s (Vi) chief executive Abhijit Kishore said the telecom carrier is evaluating a foray into the commercial 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) service, which will enable it to expand into the home broadband and SOHO (small office/home office) segments.

He added that the telco is in the process of attaining necessary regulatory clearances to launch a non-terrestrial network (NTN)-based communication service with its American partner, AST SpaceMobile.
