India Energy Stack pilots set to kick off with P2P power trading

India’s push to build a national digital backbone for the power sector is moving from blueprint to execution with the first pilot under the India Energy Stack (IES) set to showcase interstate peer-to-peer (P2P) electricity trading as early as February, said Prince Dhawan, executive director at REC Limited (formerly Rural Electrification Corporation), the designated nodal agency for the IES.

The IES pilot will be announced at the IndiaAI Summit next month, according to a government official.
