PAUSE Act: US lawmaker seeks scrapping OPT, ending of ‘adjustment of status’ of H-1B visa program

US Representative Chip Roy has proposed the PAUSE Act, which seeks to freeze all immigration and calls for a revision of the H-1B program, as well as the complete termination of the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program.

With support from Immigration Accountability Project, Citizens for Renewing America, and the National Immigration Center for Enforcement, the ‘Pausing All Admissions Until Security Ensured (PAUSE) Act’ has been introduced by Representative Chip Roy. Chip Roy’s legislation proposes to freeze all immigration to the U.S., except for temporary tourist visas.
