AI-led IT deals still forms small chunk despite hype: Zensar CEO

New artificial intelligence (AI)-driven deals are plentiful and more profitable but they make up a small portion of the overall IT landscape, Manish Tandon, chief executive and managing director of Zensar Technologies, told ET in an interview. Traditional projects, he said, still account for a larger share, though they face heavy discounts and margin pressures.

Pointing out that the IT industry is caught up in the AI hype, he said Zensar noted that 20% of its order bookings were “AI-influenced”, using AI toolsets to either deliver or sell and differentiate its services.
