Handset PLI 2.0 to support export momentum; Motorola eyes participation in ECMS: Prashanth Mani

MUMBAI: A continuity of the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for handsets would support the export momentum for such devices from India, according to a senior executive of Motorola.

“PLI 1.0 has achieved tremendous results. Devices, including Motorola smartphones, are exported from India to a developed market like the US. That momentum should be continued. I am sure that the contributions can keep going up. So, that’s the need for the PLI 2.0,” Prashanth Mani, vice president (Asia Pacific), Motorola, told ETTelecom in an interview.
