Understanding Digital Embassies: How India and UAE are exploring secure data hubs, AI collaboration, and global digital infrastructure

The ‘Digital Embassies’ initiative is being pursued between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the larger context of the strengthening of the strategic relationship between the two countries, as indicated in the joint statement on the occasion of the formal state visit of the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to India. The objective of this initiative is to protect data of national importance. There is, in fact, an increasing focus on the role of digital infrastructure in building international relationships.
