India’s smartphone shipments drop by 7% on-year in 4Q25; Xiaomi sees highest decline: Omdia

NEW DELHI: Shipments in the India smartphone market declined by 7% year-on-year to 34.5 million units in the fourth quarter of 2025 (4Q25), dragged by elevated inventories, depreciation of the rupee currency, and a slide in affordability following prices hikes driven by memory cost pressures, according to the latest data released by Omdia on Tuesday.

Vivo retained its leadership position with 7.9 million units and a 23% share, on the back of a 16% annual growth in shipments, followed by Samsung with 4.9 million units and a 14% share, but saw an 11% decline in shipments.
