Vodafone Idea expands 5G to all districts of Kerala, deploys more than 3,500 4G sites
Vodafone Idea (Vi) on Tuesday said that it has expanded fifth-generation or 5G network services to all 14 districts of Kerala, where its subscribers can now access high-speed internet by subscribing to a 5G plan priced at ₹299.
Following the successful launch of its 5G network in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Malappuram, Vi has scaled its network in recent months, as part of its focused strategy to strengthen its services in Kerala.
With this expansion, Vi said its 5G network now covers all major towns, commercial hubs, educational clusters, tourism corridors, and high-density residential areas in Kerala.
With statewide coverage now live, Vi 5G is available in prime cities in all 14 districts, including Alapuzha, Kannur, Kalamassery, Kasaragod, Kalpeta, Kochi, Kollam, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Manjeri-Malappuram, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Tirur, Thrissur, Thodupzha, Thiruvananthapuram and Wayanad.
Going forward, Vi said it will continue to expand 5G coverage to other regions in the State.
Parallelly, the nation’s third-largest telecom carrier said that it has expanded its 4G network in Kerala by deploying more than 3,500 new sites across 900MHz, 1800MHz, and 2100MHz spectrum bands between September 2024 and September 2025.
Building on this momentum, Vi said it plans to add more 4G sites in the coming months to further augment network capacity and bandwidth to deliver reliable, high-quality connectivity across urban and rural markets.
George Mathew V, cluster business head- Kerala, Vodafone Idea, said, “We are happy to announce that Vi 5G is now available in every district in Kerala. In the second half of 2025, we accelerated 5G deployments across the state with advanced, energy-efficient infrastructure and AI-powered Self-Organising Networks (SON) to automatically optimise network performance and deliver high-speed, reliable connectivity.”
