How I use ChatGPT to plan travel

For most of us, planning a trip meant scanning blogs, Instagram posts by travel influencers and sometimes speaking to agents, often ending up with more opinions than insight. What AI has changed for me is not the booking process, but the way I frame decisions before anything is booked.

I begin by giving it context: myself and wife traveling along with two children aged 10 and 12, an interest in being outdoors, and a low tolerance for long stretches of inactivity. I also add constraints such as school holidays, likely weather, and flight connectivity. From there, instead of asking where to go, I ask questions about fit and trade-offs.
