Telecom body COAI asks government to slash regulatory levies and spectrum GST ahead of budget

The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the industry body representing telecom companies, has sought a reduction in regulatory levies, including the licence fee, to 0.5-1 per cent from the current three per cent, in the upcoming budget.

In its submission to the government, the Cellular Operators Association of India suggested that funds to the Digital Bharat Nidhi should be paused till the time unused corpus is completely utilised by the telecom department.
