‘India’s smartphone market undergoing strategic reset amidst increasing competition’
NEW DELHI: After years of intense competition and fragmented brand strategies that drove rapid scale, India’s mobile handset market is now undergoing a strategic reset, as changing market dynamics prompt original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to realign brand portfolios to improve execution and reduce costs, according to analysts.
India’s smartphone handset market is seeing a gradual realignment of brand portfolios, with OEMs integrating sub-brands and product series more closely to sharpen execution, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency, says Prachir Singh, a senior research analyst at Counterpoint Research.
