Amazon’s new AI shopping tool may disappoint online retailers who claim their products are being listed on the e-commerce site without their permission. The features, called “Shop Direct” and “Buy for Me,” allow customers to browse and buy items from other websites directly through the Amazon app. Business owners have raised concerns on platforms like Reddit and Instagram, claiming they never agreed to be part of the programme.
The “Buy for Me” tool uses an artificial intelligence (AI) agent to complete orders on other websites for Amazon customers.
