‘India can meet nearly 70% rare earths demand by e-waste recycling to overcome geopolitics stress’

NEW DELHI: India should harness critical minerals through recycling of e-Waste by enabling the formal sector in order to cut dependence on China in the wake of ongoing geopolitics, and can meet upto 70% demand, a top executive of a company said.

“The majority of critical minerals globally are supplied by China, and there is geopolitical stress going on. India also wants to be in a position where it is insulated from this geopolitical stress,” Nitin Gupta, co-founder and chief executive, Attero, told ET.
