Reliance Jio outpaces Bharti Airtel in converting 5G coverage to real-world usage: Opensignal

NEW DELHI: India’s top telco Reliance Jio has been able to steal a march over its rival Bharti Airtel by converting nationwide fifth-generation (5G) network availability into sustained usage by mobile subscribers, network analysis firm Opensignal has found.

This is, since Airtel has deployed a non-standalone (NSA) architecture for its 5G network, which uses a 4G Core. In this case, a device may detect a 5G signal, while the data traffic continues to be carried over the 4G network.
