US lawmaker proposes complete ban of H-1B visa program

H-1B visa program, which allows US companies to hire foreign workers, is under fire from the American workforce and lawmakers. A Republican congresswoman has called for a total ban on the H-1B temporary visa program, reports Newsweek.

“That H-1B visa program has got to either stop right now until we understand the amount of just how it’s being taken advantage of, or redone so it doesn’t exist. It cannot continue in the way it has,” said Texas Representative Beth Van Duyne to conservative commentator Benny Johnson, Newsweek reported.
