Oppo Mobiles India disputes tax demand of ₹7,958 cr, pays ₹1,579 cr duty

New Delhi: Chinese-owned smartphone maker Oppo Mobiles India Pvt Ltd paid ₹1,579 crore of custom duty under protest to the government in fiscal 2025, the company said in its filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).

This duty was related to a disputed classification of goods and valuation issues which are currently under litigation, the company said in its latest filings with the Registrar of Companies. Oppo said it has also filed an appeal against the customs demand and is confident that the case will be decided in its favour.
