Spotify India turns profitable in FY25 on subscription surge

Mumbai: Global music streaming platform Spotify’s Indian unit swung to a net profit of Rs 75 crore in FY25 from a year-earlier net loss of Rs 143 crore. The financial turnaround was powered by strong revenue growth and a steep reduction in advertising and marketing expenses, showed filings with the corporate affairs ministry.

Spotify India LLP posted a 48% rise in revenue from operations last fiscal year at Rs 514 crore, from Rs 348 crore in the year before. Total revenue, including other income, jumped 50% to Rs 527 crore from Rs 351 crore in FY24.
