Walmart CEO Doug McMillon once said that he never planned to stay longer at the company. McMillion, who plans to retire next year on January 31, was speaking at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in 2017 when he said: “My first time with Walmart was just to make money during the summertime to help pay my way through school”. “And I didn’t mean to be there very long at all,” he added.
