Qualcomm buys Taiwan’s Augentix to bolster edge AI surveillance solutions portfolio
NEW DELHI: Qualcomm Inc.’s subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, has acquired Taiwanese startup Augentix to deliver edge artificial intelligence (AI)-powered smart surveillance solutions for enterprise, industrial, and public infrastructure verticals globally and in India.
Hsinchu, Taiwan-headquartered Augentix is a provider of low-power image signal processors (ISP) and multimedia chipsets.
“India has a growing need for secure, scalable and trusted IP camera platforms as public and enterprise infrastructure digitises at speed,” said Sunita Verma, group coordinator (R&D Division), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in a statement recently.
