Intel inks pact with India’s Tata to produce, assemble semiconductors locally

US-based chip maker Intel has partnered with India’s Tata Group to manufacture and assemble semiconductors in India for the local market. This collaboration also aims to rapidly scale tailored AI PC solutions for India’s consumer and enterprise sectors, a market projected to be among the top five globally by 2030.

Under the agreement, Intel and Tata will explore the manufacturing and packaging of Intel products at Tata Electronics’ upcoming facilities. These include a chip manufacturing plant in Dholera, Gujarat, and a semiconductor assembly and packaging plant in Assam.
