Donald Trump allows Nvidia to sell H200 AI chips to China, but ‘conditions apply’
Nvidia, the chipset major has managed to secure a significant policy win on December 8, after US President Donald Trump announced that the company is now allowed to sell its powerful H200 AI chipset to ‘approved customers’ in China, subject to strict conditions. Trump made this announcement by sharing a post on Truth Social. In the post, Trump wrote that he has informed Chinese President Xi Jinping that the US would allow sale of Nvidia’s H200 chips under a framework which is designed to benefit American workers and tax payers.
“I have informed President Xi, of China, that the United States will allow NVIDIA to ship its H200 products to approved customers in China, and other Countries, under conditions that allow for continued strong National Security.
