One common thing in shareholder protests against salary hikes for Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Tesla CEO Elon Musk

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s pay package has gone up by 22% in the current fiscal. The company’s recent SEC filing revealed the same and the increase in compensation was put to vote at Microsoft’s recent Annual Shareholders Meet. While an increase in Nadella’s pay package was approved by a thumping vote, there was one shareholder who voted against the same.

Norway’s $2 trillion sovereign wealth fund has voted against Satya Nadella’s pay package. The Norwegian fund is the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund. Incidentally, this is the same fund that also opposed Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s trillion-dollar compensation package.
