2025 marks a turnaround for BSNL as telco forays into 4G, boosts financials

NEW DELHI: 2025 has been a landmark year for the public sector telecom carrier Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), marked by its financial turnaround, the commercial launch of its fourth-generation (4G) network, roll-out of customer-centric initiatives, and several key technology pilots.

After 18 years, it reported back-to-back profits for the first time in the third and fourth quarters of the fiscal year 2025 (FY25) at ₹262 crore and ₹280 crore, respectively. BSNL’s total operating revenue for FY25 increased by 7.8% year-on-year to ₹20,841 crore.
